Scumbria : Apparently Intel has only been sampling 1.1GHz parts for a couple of weeks. They require a last minute microcode hack :

I thought Tom Pabst, in his second article, admitted he was wrong about the microcode issue being responsible for the problems he observed with the 1.13 GigaHertz part. At least, that is what I interpreted it to mean.
