NEWS - NEW CEO, 2 NEW BOARD MEMBERS Chromatics Color Sciences Names Brian Fitzpatrick Acting CEO, Appoints Two New Directors, Pending Shareholder Approval At Annual Meeting NEW YORK, Aug. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Directors of Chromatics Color Sciences International (Nasdaq: CCSI) has appointed the Company's President and COO, Brian Fitzpatrick to be Acting Chief Executive Officer and Board Director with permanent appointment subject to majority shareholder approval of the expanded seven member slate of directors nominated by the Board. Mr. Fitzpatrick will be assuming responsibilities as Acting Chief Executive Officer at the Company's headquarters in NYC on Aug. 14, after concluding operational transitions at Gordon Laboratories in Los Angeles. The Company's founder and current CEO, Mrs. Darby Macfarlane, will be assisting Mr. Fitzpatrick during this transition, and continuing as the Company's Chairperson and Chief Technology Officer. The Board of Directors has approved expansion of the Board from the existing five to seven members effective August 3, and has appointed Mr. James Bergman in addition to Mr. Fitzpatrick to fill these new vacancies until there is shareholder approval of the expanded slate of Directors at the Annual Shareholder Meeting later this year. Mr. Fitzpatrick joined the Company in June with the acquisition of Gordon Laboratories where he had been Chairman, President and CEO of Gordon since April 1996. Earlier in his career, he served as president of several electronic manufacturing companies after working for the Polaroid Corporation in its industrial marketing division. He graduated with an MBA degree in Finance & Marketing from Adelphi University in 1986 and received a BS degree in Marketing from Seton Hall University in 1975. Mr. Bergman has been associated with CCSI as an investor since 1998. He presently is the Chief Operating Officer of Lawrence Brothers, Inc., a privately held maker of hardware used in the building trades (Lawrence Brothers also is a debenture holder in CCSI). He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1983 with a BS degree in Business Administration and from the Northern Illinois School of Law with a JD degree in 1987....
