Today's (Wed. 2 Aug 2000) Wall St. Journal (at least the WashDC area) on page B1 has an article, "Reading, 'Riting, Record-Keeping" by Pui-Wing Tam re: the use of PALM-type devices by high school educators for attendance, grades, ID checks, etc. The article specifically mentions PALM and SBL. While the featured high school is in Holtsville, New York, (which, as we know, is SBL's hometown), the uses of PDAs in schools by studenbts and teachers are universally applicable. Harry Lerner (who has a heck of a great first name), VP for healthcare, educ., and hospitality at SBL, says he anticipates the educational market for SBL could approach $250 mill in sales a year and form a double-digit percentage of SBL's revenues.
I recommend your reading it.
