This type of situation, re: hostile buyouts and WK's, its new to me. But by placing myself in the position of a WK - I would want to make my decision and bid after I see as much data as possible which places my move near the end of this window from DB. I would be doing thorough DD on the existing data, and quick verification of the last data available comparing it to all the likely contingency outcomes that I had prepared for with the thorough DD.
Although I acted very, very foolishly selling my traders to the market when the offer first came - I have wised up, relaxed, though long and hard, and decided I do not sell the core holding. Preferably not to DB, and surely, not at these figures. I hope the bid is turned down with or without a WK. I expect a higher offer, DB and/or a WK, and reluctantly would sell over $7 or $8, but would rather have the opportunity to replace the traders below $3.50 and sell in a yr (or two) for $10-$20 (or $25-$30).
Wayne - how would you handle this situation if you were BHP or DMM et al?
