Well then I might as well bring up that I don't "get" this company's (SQSW) products, and how they fit in to the landscape I see developing. Maybe somebody out there will reply and clear this up.

What is an XML portal? This XML is backoffice stuff. The portal is in the front, where ariba goes.

For example, if you are a new b2b exchange or ASP, you will design your site with some Java programmers. You then call Ariba or C1 for their tools (reverse auctions etc) and access to their catalog etc. as well as an integration provider for the backoffice. The XML part is the backoffice, those vendors are webm, tibx, vitr, etc. Beas looks promising because it is J2EE. The backoffice provider gives you the XML mapper and some sort of integrity across the net so you can do staged business transactions between different suppliers and logistics partners.

You don't need a portal, nobody actually looks at this stuff. What am I missing.
