Ted,

I don't mind averaging down if I think a stock will eventually go up from my original purchase price, as I think AMD will. In fact I know I'm not smart enough to pick a bottom, so my strategy is an acceptance of my lack of timing ability.

The most bullish signal would be if I didn't get filled, that would mean a bottom is in <g>. Can't tell you how many times that has happened, I've given up a lot of profits because I was too cheap to pay an extra 1/2 point on the buy.
