Well, I'm back from my little upgrade adventure. In all honesty, it was one of the easiest motherboard upgrades that I ever performed. The only problem I had is that the computer would occasionally boot up with a blank screen. It was almost as if the connection to the monitor was faulty, although this wasn't the case. I just installed the bios upgrade from MTech and that seems to have solved the problem.
I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I love the layout of the MTech board. Everything logically fits in place and there is plenty of room. My old motherboard was so overcrowded that it was a real pleasure to work with the MTech board.

So far, I have had no problem with recognition of the CDROM or the hard drives by the motherboard. Knock on wood, but it appears that everything is working perfectly. I am now all set for the M2. I got 64 megs of SDRAM and I'm ready to rock. Once again, thanks for all of the advice that you offered. It really helped to make this motherboard upgrade a breeze. All my best. Allan E.
