rli123, Li batteries, if Cobalt is used, need to be enclosed in a container to prevent possible explosion hazards due to overcharging. Li batteries from VLNC, using Manganese, does not have the explosion problem due to overcharging. It is possible to reduce the packaging costs and OEM's would not mind the cost savings. Ram
