Heinz, I have seen the deflation scenario referred to in two other places this week... by Don Hays and in a Forbes article. What do you think would be the mechanism where we could move from the current accelerating inflation to deflation fears? Just a really, extremely hard landing scenario? My impression of the post-1929 US deflation and the current Japanese deflation is that the economy needs to get quite badly damaged before deflation can happen.
