The Amazon 10Q was released today. This was in the beginning and I do not recall it in the past:

"

Use of Estimates

The preparation of financial statements in conformity with generally
accepted accounting principles requires management to make estimates and
assumptions that affect the reported amounts of assets and liabilities at the
date of the financial statements and the reported amounts of revenues and
expenses during the reporting period. Actual results could differ from those
estimates."
I am very confused as to why revenues and expenses would need to be estimated. Either something was sold and paid for or it was not. The same goes for expenses. Assets are easily determined too. Oh well..
