Yes, respected AND independent. You brought up the subject at the wrong time - right when it was found that Intel's vapor-hardware offering of a 1.13 G hz unit is nothing other than marketing positioning at the sake of sound engineering discipline and manufacture. Naughty, naughty.

Intel is a fine company and will get past their marketing and design problems. But this vapor-hardware (product announcements before its time) will likely backfire because it will only increase AMD's stature by contrast.
