MobileEngines Releases a Powerful New Music Engine; SpinRecords.com and Musictoday.com Sign On as Partners to the MobileEngines Music Engine
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 3, 2000--MobileEngines, the leader in mobile entertainment services, today announced that it has created its third mobile entertainment engine, the Music Engine.
The Music Engine will support such applications as pop music alerting, MP3, music giveaways, and concert tracking and ticket deals that can be accessed on mobile devices, including Internet-enabled cell phones and PDAs. MobileEngines also announced today it has formed partnerships with leading music companies, SpinRecords.com and Musictoday.com, to help in the development of cutting-edge music content that will be sold to carriers.

Mobile Entertainment Category is Growing Rapidly
Research and studies illustrate that teens are the demographic to target with mobile entertainment services. Research firm IDC estimates that 1.3 billion people worldwide will use data-enabled phones by 2004. And teen users are expected to hit 30% by 2001. By 2005, mobile commerce should reach $44.5 billion in the U.S. alone, with entertainment content expected to be a driving force of market penetration.
