Cheap Bastards....
ME >>If a man is happy and joyful while walking down the street, he'll naturally want to smile, acknowlege and help anyone he runs into. And when others make eye contact with him, he'll shine with all the brightness of a sunny day.">>
YOU >>Whenever I make eye contact with anyone on the street they always ask me for a quarter. When I run out of quarters they call me a cheap bastard.>>
Jimmy:
Try an experiment.
Avoid judging these individuals.
Imagine loving them.
If you can take this incredible leap of faith - even if it's only for 5 mins, do the the following.
Take the next "insanely wacky" step by talking to them.
Look into their eyes.
Connect.
Care.
Collaborate.
"Let go" and let whatever small bit of energy, light, care or compassion you can muster to "just flow."
And, moving on, if you have a quarter, buck or whatever and feel you want to give it to him/her, do so.
I'd just recommend that you encourage that individual to give some of whatever you give to them to others. And then really believe and pray that they will.
Deep down inside of us are emotions of light, compassion, care and concern which are just there waiting to well up at any time. We need to learn the value of tapping into this energy, this power.
Hope this helps.
Peace.

Note: Oh, and as far as "Cheap Bastards" go, if you risk trying the exercise above you will completely arrest and nullify any and all comments/responses/feelings coming from within you or from others about ever being a "cheap....bastard." For these are simply examples of external/internal black holes of personal/selfish judgment which - once hooked - drag us and others down - our light, energy, trust and love. That's why most people simply avoid eye contact with these folks and walk past. Two black holes have no use for each other. For even a black hole needs trust and light and love to feed on to survive.
But if you walk into the middle of a black hole and arrest it with light and love you could create a small miracle for even a minute or two of this exposure could arrest the destructive energy-sucking/taking process. |
