- Best Buy will hire more than 350 employees for its stores in Long Island City at 50-01 Northern Blvd, and in East Hanover at 410 State Route 10. Both are scheduled to open this fall as part of the 15-store expansion into the New York City market. Best Buy plans to hire more than 2,200 employees in the New York/New Jersey area as support for the new stores. Those interested in working at the new Best Buy locations can now apply for a job by simply making a phone call. applicants can interview without leaving home by calling toll-free 888-NEW-JOB9 (888-639-5629). This automated system allows the candidate to apply from anywhere at anytime by using a touch-tone phone. The application takes approximately six minutes. Each candidate needs their social security number, as well as the store number -- Long Island City is #478, East Hanover is #473.
