Dial Data offers packages ranging from $19 to $70 per month. $19 gets you unlimited downloads of stock quotes only for 6 months worth of data (not really enough for thorough analysis). For extra, you can get 2 years, complete history, fundamental data, indices, stock options and commodity futures.

Your old 386 might get you by but probably not without a math co-processor. You don't need real time unless you want to monitor it and trade in real time. Most people aren't in that position - like they get up and go to work each day - so the only option is to trade short term or longer.

Just a guess, but I'd say a "fanning trendline" is one that has its support and resistance lines expanding over time, allowing for higher highs and/or lower lows to occur.

Good luck to you. Be careful out there.

Regards,

Fred Weiss
