 SANTA ANA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 3, 2000--

Worldwide Technology Company Using NQL Solutions' Web Content

Gathering Functionalities to Build Custom Applications

The NQL Solutions division of AlphaServ.com (Nasdaq NM: ALMI) today announced that Amsterdam-based Getronics (AEX: GTN), the world's third-largest IT solution provider with annual revenues exceeding $5 billion, has licensed NQL's core technology for the development of information management solutions.

Under the terms of the licensing agreement, Getronics' Business Solutions Group, one of Getronics' two primary service groups, is using Network Query Language (NQL) to re-engineer the company's knowledge management tools, and plans to use the patent-pending technology to capture best-practices information.

"Integrating cutting-edge technologies like NQL into our solutions is a crucial part of our plan to provide our customers with the most sophisticated e-business applications and solutions available. To that end, we have partnered with industry leaders including Cisco, Nokia, Microsoft and now NQL," said Raymond Kalustyan, Getronics' vice president, business solutions and consulting.

Kalustyan continued, "NQL's patent-pending lateral crawling approach is key to our success in re-engineering our knowledge management tools. Our engineers are already working with NQL and are excited about how easy it makes the automated retrieval and organization of Web content. Integrating this technology should strengthen our ability to capture vital information and allow us to better serve the business needs of our global clients."

Getronics boasts more than 500 $1 million-plus customer relationships, representing 60 percent of the company's revenues. Getronics customers include ABN AMRO Bank, Barclays, British Petroleum, BT, European Community, Federal Express, Fiat, France Telecom, Kmart Corporation, KLM, McDonald's, NASA, Philips, Shell, Telstra Corporation and Unilever. Getronics helps these organizations maximize the value of their technology investments by integrating a range of sophisticated technologies on a global scale.

"We believe Getronics' licensing of NQL demonstrates our ability to sell NQL to major Fortune companies. Our long-term strategy is to foster adoption of NQL throughout the various divisions of those companies," said AlphaServ.com chairman, chief executive officer and president, Douglas J. Tullio.

The agreement with Getronics is one of several international partnerships recently announced by NQL, including a deal with SiteLynx, which is using NQL for digital search and navigation marketing solutions, and major European Web portal Jubii, which uses NQL for content aggregation on its portal, serving more than 1.5 million users.

"Getronics is an established and recognized market leader. Their acceptance of NQL proves what we've always believed about NQL, that it is a powerful tool for harnessing the power of the Web and building applications with ease," said Denny Michael, NQL's vice president of marketing. "Getronics' success with NQL is a further validation of our technology and business plan. We look forward to working with Getronics to help them gain every competitive advantage NQL has to offer."
