In Canada if you don`t give your fiance a diamond engagement ring, your a bum. Debeers has changed their strategy from price support to marketing. With the amount of dollars they can allocate to advertising,just think of the sales volume potential in China. WHEN they convince the CHINESE it is a "matter of face" to give your fiance a diamond engagement ring there will be plenty of demand. And that diamond better be big! I don`t think it is just coincidence that CHINA TRADE AGREEMENTS are signed and Debeers changes their strategy to promotion.A coke, a hamburger and fries and a diamond ring!
