SAO PAULO, Aug. 3 (Reuters) - Brazil's benchmark stock index said on
Thursday foreign investors withdrew 310.5 reais ($172.5 million) from the
bourse in July, compared with net foreign inflows of 2.1 billion reais the
previous month.

The net outflow came as investors sold 3.24 billion reais worth of shares and
bought 2.93 million reais of shares in the month, the Bovespa index said in a
statement.

Accumulated foreign investment for the year through July 31 was 121.1 million
reais, the statement said.

The Bovespa lost 898 million reais of foreign investment in May.

Last year, the bourse made a net gain of 2.2 billion reais in foreign investment.
