NORWALK, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 3, 2000--eLEC Communications
Corp. (NASDAQ:ELEC) announced today that it has been granted CLEC
certification by the Public Utilities Commission of Colorado.
eLEC will now begin the deployment of its unbundled network
elements platform (UNE-P) network in Colorado so that it can bring its
affordable local telephone services to Colorado's business and
residential customers.
The Company also announced that it has also been certified to
provide long distance services to the public in California.
Paul Riss, eLEC's CEO, stated, "We have received notification that
the Public Utilities Commission of Colorado has approved our
application to provide both local and long distances services.
Additionally, we have been approved to provide long distance services
in California."

These guys continue to report good news on a regular basis. It isn't moving the stock at all in the current market climate but the future looks promising to me. rod
