Mani has almost no real power, he is just the trigger man. He acts the way the thread votes. He has expressed no desire to be a dictator and has taken no action that was not the direct result of a vote. The voting process and some issues still need to be improved but the ultimate fact remains that if the thread becomes sufficiently unhappy with Mani's performance then no one will post there. The thread does not serve Mani... Mani serves the thread. If he doesn't then he will end up the happy moderator of a thread ghost town.

Frankly, I do not care how the mod thread works...that is not in my purview. How you guys do it is your business.

Your fears are wholly unjustified in my opinion, and if I am wrong then everyone will eventually be back here anyway. So what are you worried about? My only guess is that since you are very rarely venemous or insulting that you are chafing against the off topic restrictions.

I will say this one more time so that you fully understand it. I really, really believe in the American Constitution and the Bill of Rights. And I really like the freedom of speech part. Now that may sound lame or hokie....but thats my problem.

Because I believe strongly in that principle, I will continue to post on the classic thread and do as much as I can to keep it alive until there is no one left (should that be the result). After that I will be on my way.
