It's true that ORCL generates more controversy than most other companies, but I think that it's because Ellison is a sort of lightning rod for controversy (since he speaks bluntly and candidly about a lot of things) and because they have lousy PR. This makes them seem vulnerable to these attacks, but in the 5 years that I've been playing close attention, I haven't seen any of these lawsuits against Ellison or Oracle win, so I think that this vulnerability might be an illusion.

And consider Bill Gates' latest comments about how "Oracle/Sun/AOL" put the justice department up to that suit. I guess they did that in Europe, too. I can't figure out if Gates is a shameless liar, or if he's just delusional. If they keep this up, maybe MSFT can displace ORCL as the company people love to hate.
