Nonsense.
What on earth is the "fearful mind"? You seem to be assuming two things: 1) some minds are innately "fearful", others are not; and 2) fear is exclusively self-protective.
On 1). As my example of war was designed to illustrate, it is not necessarily that certain minds are innately "fearful," but that certain situations are innately more fear-provoking than others. You know, if you haven't walked in their shoes....
On 2). During wartime, I can assure you, many people are more fearful about what may happen to their children,parents, relatives, etc., than they are about what may happen to them personally. THAT is generally what inspires them to act (to fight, to flee, or whatever). Indeed, I would question whether an individual lacking in HEALTHY fear is really capable of loving anyone else! |
