Last product update for 700 series, 2 years ago... See: netapp.com I was curious when the last major product update was and it turns out it was August 18, 1998 when the 700 series was announced. Since then, clustering, cache and software updates have occurred, but the product line hasn't been updated. Previous to 1998, NTAP turned the product over every year or so. Do I think they have been sitting on their hands? No. I suspect we are going to see something major coming, 2 years is a long time in the tech-world. What is probably most positive about this is that during this interval, NTAP has done very well competitively which I think says a lot about the quality of their product, in general. Anyone heard anything about what's coming?
