The following might be informative for people that are new to INSP. The format is set up for the regular INSP board and is in the form of questions to the INSP bears.

A few questions for the bears,

GTE and Airtouch are both powered by Infospace. Users can go to the carriers web site and customize what they see on their cell phone. A Infospace logo is at the bottom of their partners.Take a look at the following links and answer the questions at the bottom of this post.

1. It's pretty obvious that INSP is a major player in the wireless internet. Do you dispute the fact that they have more than an 80% market share within the US?

2. It is predicted that there will be more than 500 million internet enabled cell phones by 2004. Do you dispute the assumption that the wireless internet will grow rapidly, and if so, how many wireless internet devices do YOU predict will exist in 2004.

3. What part of the following statement do you disagree with?

Infospace provides a whole platform of content and services to the wireless carriers. Some of these services include communication services such as device-independent e-mail and instant messaging, productivity applications such as address book, calendar and "to do" lists, transaction services such as accessing account information and transferring money, localized information such as real-time traffic reports, single-click instant buying and the electronic delivery of promotions that can be used online or offline, and real-time alerts such as auction bids and stock alerts are expected to be available from the major wireless carriers within the next few months. Infospace will make $1-3 dollars per user per month. That number could go up as people use their cell phone to do more things such as m-commerce (mobil commerce), ect..

4. What does $1 - $3 per month x 500 million devices equal in annual revenue for INSP?
