No, I wasn't referring to you. I was referring to an exchange between others. Coincidentally, I'm not pointing the finger at either...I thought they were both being rude. But, it's their business, really. I just had read about 15 emails in a row that were nothing but insults and I started to feel like I was reading the transcript to some daytime talk show and frankly, it pissed me off. I guess I should have kept out of it. But if that's the case, you probably should have left my comment alone, too.
I'm sorry you have the impression that I'm fat and stupid. Since you haven't ever met me and have no idea what I look like...I suppose I could think the same thing about you, but I don’t really care enough to consider it. I'm 5'10", I weigh 155# and I run and play basketball and work out almost daily. So, just to correct that impression you have, I'm not overweight. You probably think everybody who disagrees with your political affiliation is stupid.... For the record, I'm probably closer to being a Libertarian than anyone on this friggen board. But, at the same time, I do think government has a role in areas where the owner of the interest or concern is the public...and undeniably, some things ARE publicly owned - clean water and air for instance. I follow the "Free to Choice" type libertarianism pretty much. Milton was brilliant except with that nutty monetary policy stuff, IMO.
As far as being liberal, I don't think the Clinton regime is liberal. FDR and LBJ were liberal. Clinton tries as hard as he can to be liked - and hence has no real political agenda other than that, IMO. It doesn't always make for a good leader, but he does well politically - and it's very, very human. In some ways, it does, IMO, take a village to raise a child...but not in the way you so simply demean it.
To briefly explain my point, everybody in a child’s environment plays a role in a child’s upbringing and I think it's important for people to remind themselves of that whenever children are present. If you take issue with that, that's fine with me; but if I ever see a person cursing or sexually fondling each other in front of children, you can bet I'll say something about it. Respect and responsibility should be very public...it's what kids should get used to, again, in my opinion.
At the beginning of my entry into this discussion, I made it clear that I thought the decision in November amounted to stupid versus indecisive - so I agree with your statement that "He [Gore] can't make a sensible decision even it jumps up and bites him in the ass". Your right again in that Bush appears, IMO, more comfortable leading...but I live in Texas...and I haven't seen that much leadership out of him. I don't think he's very smart, though. I have never met him personally or carried on a conversation with him, though, so I could be very wrong. Have never met Gore either, so my impressions of him could be wrong too.
I don't care about money that much since I am very comfortable and happy regardless. My money is in stock (obviously, I'm a member of this website). And, apart from maybe my shares of Celera, I don't think Gore can or will hurt my investments. Neither one of them is stupid or smart enough to reign in the corporate gorilla that I seek to own. I have more than enough money...but money does not equate to happiness - and it CERTAINLY doesn't equate to right or wrong.
The whole reason I came here was to improve my knowledge of the issue and "think deeply". That's why I got irritated in the at the base exchange in the first place, which ironically is the reason you’re attacking me.
