Joan, as long as the money supply stays ample, 'concept' stocks will continue to be bought...i think Don Hayes ideas about nanotech and alternative energy as probable great mania trends of the next secular advance are quite interesting...i can even see space exploration cos. becoming the subject of a financial mania in perhaps 20-30 years from now...that's just a guess of course.

in the here and now we have an interesting situation, inasmuch as the Fed seems unwilling to curtail the credit expansion out of fear of harming the stock market bubble...in other words, we WILL find out where the natural limit to the credit expansion lies. especially as the only 'reason' that could induce the Fed to curtail money supply growth, namely inflation, will continue to fail to show up in official statistics due to the methodology employed.

interesting times indeed...
