Born in Houston in 1970, raised in East Texas.

I enjoy lively discussion...even better, really intelligent, biting remarks. But, namecalling and "talk to the hand stuff" just annoys me. And, I don't mind telling people who deserve it either.

When Ann Richards was Gov, I wasn't paying much attention. I was partying my ass off at UT Austin. I did meet her once in a local hospital and found her to be gracious and kind. We have different politics, but I still enjoyed her compassion. She is a good person. I think most Texans felt the same way - although they also seemed to disagree with her politics.

All in all, I respect her as I _try_ to respect everyone regardless of political affiliation. I gotta lot of that Texas flair for sayin it like it is, but I also gotta little Small Town in me that tells me to be polite, too. I tend to judge people on character instead. I really dig people (especially women) who are strongly opinionated, have a lot of self will, and know how to defend themselves intelligently rather than arrogantly.

If other people have a right to say whatever they want (and, no one, ESPECIALLY ME, is argueing that they don't), then I also gotta right to tell em I think they are being rude - simple as that.
