"After all is said and done, with their package I get their "digital" TV + cox@home for about $5/month *LESS* than I'm paying now. Now there's some value!"

ftth- Interesting. I'm wondering if you are an exception to the extra $19/month fees the MSOs are getting? In my case, I happen to drop right in there at about $15/month extra for the digital package. I'm guessing you must have been paying for some premium channel package or two, with your current service. And since this is folded into the digital package, you get a reduced rate. Ouch. This is not good for the MSO.

I hope since it's lower, you try it and give us a critique. I did a quick review of GTE Americast upstream at:http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=14102934

Personally I've been very impressed by the quality difference of both the analog and digital channels. Next week, I'm switching over to Time Warner's digital cable TV package where I can do a comparison. GTE is using a GI STB. I don't know what TWX will be supplying me. -MikeM(From Florida)
