From reading the description of the demonstration of the Fonix technology on the Fonix thread, it is nothing that I haven't seen Lernout and Hauspie able to do. In addition, I am sure that IBM, Motorola, Dragon, Phillips, Apple, Siemens, and a host of other firms can duplicate what was done in the Fonix demonstration. The main problem with Fonix is that if it is real, it certainly doesn't behave like a "normal" company - whatever "normal" is. That strangeness creates ample opportunity for skepticism. For me, the easiest decision is just to sit back and watch the soap opera play itself out.
