Anyone interested in the future of cell phones and other
portable computing devices should check out a speculative company called Microvision (MVIS). They have patents on, and make a device called a virtual retinal display (VRD). It basically is a tiny thing that projects red green and blue lasers into your eye to create an image that looks like a 15" monitor. It has already been demonstrated to work, they are in the process of shrinking the tech down to the point where you can put it into a cellphone. Of course you might look silly holding your cell phone up and looking at it, but for a virtual 15" display I'll do it.
