Daniel, "How long have you owned ctxs and when do you plan to exit?" I've owned CTXS for two years going on eternity. Exit is totally dependent on my evaluation of the new boys they bring in to recruit/organize the sales/marketing squad to focus on new 'enterprise' category of customers. [can anybody explain why this shift in customer base came as a surprise to CTXS? Who did they think they'd be selling their stuff to--the SOHO market?] And of course I'm vitally interested in the new CEO--I even fantasize that they could persuade Ray Lane to leave Silicon Valley for Florida but then my grasp on reality has always been tenuous. If they get top quality talent, I'll do what I always do: hold for eternity or its near equivalent. If they don't, I will sell as fast as I can click the mouse button regardless of the then current price.
I cannot answer your questions regarding the CTXS employee stock option plan, but it is obviously a vital concern at this point. Their decision to reprice is a damned if they do (shareholders and Wall Street would me even more PO'd if that's imaginable), damned if they don't (key employees in Silicon Valley holding under water options tend to have a five nanosecond decision path for the next employer with juicier prospects, can't imagine Florida's any different).
I hope others on this thread will take this up in detail.
Thanks for your wishes for 'better profits'. Not to put too sharp a point on it, but 'any' profits would be welcome after the CTXS Gothic Horrow Show.
regards, mike doyle
