Micro - cdma2000 is a contender in every auction. Nobody forced MCI to pull out of the British and German auctions. For some reason they decided to do so. Nothing forced Japan Telecom to pick W-CDMA either - it's a PDC operator, they could have gone with cdma2000. Brazil decided it needs to ensure a W-CDMA future and picked the 1 800 MHz frequency instead of 1 900 MHz. I can buy the theory about evil, protectionist Europeans. I have some trouble buying the theory about evil, protectionist Japanese, Brazilians, Koreans and Europeans all on the same side. It makes little sense, because these blocks do not have a common interest in conspiring against a superior standard. Tero
