"But when it comes to threads that gravitate to the BB's, intentional or not....this one is unique, and will continue to be unique, and be here for a long time IMO, and not because of SSP and I, but because of all of you."
Hi Jim, SSP and all GL members. This post really means a lot to me. I've read pretty much every post here since December and I've learned a lot about BB's and trading in general. I subscribed to SI to be able to read 10 posts at a time and waited until today to post here by lack of time. Now that I have this chance, I want to introduce myself to this great team of investors.
After reading posts here for that long, I've got a few comments and questions for a few of the most dominant posters here. There is no order of preference so here it goes. For those that are not there, do not worry, I consider everyone's input in my learning.
Jim Bishop: I see you are among the nominees for the most trusted poster and I certainly agree. Your honesty and humility are appreciated by a lot of people and not just me. Your reminders have saved me a lot of money and I never stop learning from your posts. Please keep up the good work, I have a lot of respect for you.
SSP: I know the GL thread is a hobby for you since you have a lot of money and I truly look up to you for doing all this hard work of maintaining the GL site. I remember you up until 6 in the morning working on the design of the site and this must be seriously important to you. Please remember that it is also very important for many other people. This thread was a great idea and I am glad you moved the List of stock from your notebook to the thread in June 99. Yourself and Jim have, IMO, the best thread around.
Tom Allinder: Seeing you a bit disappointed made me wonder what could happen to an investor like me. You have brought so much knowledge to this thread and I hope you will keep doing the same. I know from your posts and others' that August is historically a bad month for BB's but and I can't wait for November when the markets start heating again.
Joe Copia: I read your thread occasionally but because of the lack of time, I can't afford to read every post there. I've learned a lot from you as well and your site I like too. BTW, well done with your last picks. A ten bagger like SBID in this crappy market is surely not easy to find. Good luck with FDKP and the certs.
200mph: You are by far the poster with the personality that is closest to mine. You have brought good picks to the thread and I have no doubt you will keep doing so. I know you took your Diablo up to 170 mph. Have you seen the video where the drive one to 210 on Lamborghini's web site? The site is under construction now but it sure is impressive to see. I watch that video everyday 'cause I want a Diablo badly. BTW, what is the new hp on your Viper after you took it to the "doctor" for a little upgrade a few months ago?
Katie Kommando: Hope you're having a good time in Europe. I will make sure you see this post when you get back.
Tall Trader: Although you do not post often, you seem to constantly pick good shells. I'll have to ask you one day where to find those good ones.
R.G.: VITC took a dive recently but it seems like it will turn around. Your DD is much appreciated and you are one for sure one poster I trust what he says. I remember MOAT from a few months ago and the wild ride we had on that Friday afternoon. I heard you are away for a little while. I hope VITC will be back around a buck by the time you come back. Thank you for showing me patience.
CIMA: DSNY was a stock I believe you followed a lot and are still in. Their solution to MP3 sure looks interesting. Napster was able to stay up and running for a little while but I will be surprised if they can for long. We'll see. With the BB's being so dead these days maybe I should turn to canadian stocks. IPZ.V did well for me at the beginning of the year.
Taki: Let us fight the MM's. You sure like to make them pay. I am according more and more importance to your picks since you seem to bring them at the true bottom. I might have a few question for you regarding muscular training.
Due Diligence: I learned patience from Ron but also from you. I am currently in CCAA and waiting for Mr. Cala to close a few more deals. They have a lot going on and I believe we are going to rock one day with this one. The only hope I have, is to see more posts of you, but thank you for your picks. As Jim Bishop once said:"99% of what DD touches turns golden". That's why you fit so well to this thread. LOL.
BigBuk: When the markets come back to life, will you post more and more money trucks and trains?? BTW, how do you use those 6 monitors? I saw 2,3 and 4 but 6 is quite a lot. PM me the answer if you want.
There it is. I hope this post isn't to long. You can always read it when the markets close. Your comments and suggestions are more than welcome.
