Well, first, to the people who care about those issues, they are a matter of making the condition we leave for our children better. Second, you do too much generalizing from anecdote. When I was a child, I got beaten up by black kids a couple of times, and even then, I knew well enough to know that that was a limited sampling, and not all blacks were like that. You do not seem to have a similar insight: plenty of religious people do not like the idea of theocracy, and would fight for religious freedom, and most Republicans are not Bible thumpers, anyway....
