Pete, <AMD is trying the old Intel way, short term pain for long term gain.>

That must be why AMD launched the Duron already, despite the fact that no Tier 1 OEM will feature the thing until much later this year. You know, short-term pain of non-acceptance for long-term gain based on "Build it and they will come" attitude.

Come on, Pete. AMD has long been the leader in phantom and vapor launches. And they definitely haven't changed their ways despite their successes with Athlon. It's unfortunate that Intel is now doing the same, but the notion that AMD is now "trying the old Intel way" is a bunch of baloney.
