All, Stealing from a post on another Intel board: In retrospect, when Intel created the Pentium brand name rather than continueing with the x86 names, it was a great strategic marketing decision. Recent results from AMD and Cyrix are likly a direct result of Intel's decision to make their CPU's proprietary Branded products. At the time (IMHO) it didn't seem all that important. John
