I am just thinking about the timing here.

If SBC claims by end of 2001, we can only assume it will be no earlier but most likely later. They might have forgotten about what progress Verizon and Sprint would have made by then.

The article kind of claims Voicesteam, with 2.3 million sub, may be a competitor. I think it is probably true, SBC may be competing with VSTR for what little business that may be left. By the way, VSTR's so called 2.3 million sub includes a ton of pre-paid accounts. (last number I had was 500,000) I wonder how many prepaid accts are good candidates for wireless data customers.
