Thread & all,
Can anyone recommend a backup system/ brand. Perhaps external tape drive/ hard drive? Or even internal tape/hard drive? I want to be able to backup or mirror my entire hard drive so if I have to reinstall/ overwrite programs or the entire operating system I can do it easly from the backup copy which I can backup on a regular basis.
My motivation: Just spent most of week in operating system/ software/ driver reinstall/ limbo-neveragainland : ( I vow never to be in this situation again- at any cost ; )
I was running Win 98 and got the bug to upgrade to Win 2000 for added stabillity. Checked compatability issues with Microsoft compatability program and downloaded required driver version updates. Upgraded to Win 2000 went OK except two Issues: Windows On Wallstreet software still had compatibility issues and would crash, and I could not get two of four monitors working using ATI 98 cards. So reinstall Win 98 onto clean hard drive.
I have two usb ports and a possible ISA slot that could be used for an external drive on P300 computer.
The WOW software I run collects all trades/ all ticks in the stock market by satelite and will be unsupported in the near future, (forceing people to use internet feed product) ect not available to reinstall from WOW so data/program storage and backup is a must for me now.
Thanks for any help,
