<<Cisco's 4th-Qtr Profit Seen Falling on Acquisition Expenses>>
Acqusition expenses are nonrecurring charges. They are not inclusive in the estimates and CSCO will exclude these expenses from the earning. And CSCO acquired companies almost every quarter and CSCO has excluded these expenses every time. Excluding nonrecurring charges, CSCO is expected to earn 15 cents vs last year same period of 10 cents and whisper number is 16 cents. See whispernumber.com
YTD CSCO had 22.4% return. Pretty solid considering that Nasdaq is down 6% and Dow is down 10%.
