As I mentioned to someone else, we were confused about the status of: "clean the filters."

We have 2 filters on the furnace, and 2 huge metal electrostatic filters that are connected to the furnace. Also, we have a Honeywell portable hepa filter that you can move from room to room.

Last Friday, we got messages that we should change the Honeywell filter and we should wash the furnace and electrostatic filters.

The Honeywell hepa filter has a light that turns red when the filter needs to be changed. Friday morning my husband saw the red light. I didn't see it.

Friday morning, when I checked the thermostat for A/C temperature, I saw the notice that said: change filters. We have to wash them. Butt, my husband didn't see that message.

When he got home from work I told him the filters needed to be changed.

He said, "I know."

I said, "let's do it tonight."

He asked, "What's the rush?"

I said, "I want to shut down the furnace when it's not so hot?"

He asked, "Why do you need to shut down the furnace?"

I said, "the filters need to be washed."

He said, "I saw only the red light."

I asked, "What red light"? Is there a red light on the furnace?"

He said, "the red light on the Honeywell."

I said, I didn't see the red light on the Honeywell portable." I saw:"change the filters" on the programmable thermostat.

He said, "I didn't see that. Show me."

Eventually, we washed the filters and changed the filter on the Honeywell portable.(gg)

The two metal furnace filters had quite a bit of cat fur attached.

We thought that we could soak the large electrostatic metal filters in warm water, but it wasn't enough. I used a small amount dirt and grease remover that I bought at Costco. It is like Simple Green, but since it was new, it was cheaper.

Are you going to Asheville? I got my 1995 and 1996 cat posters for the Arts and Crafts fair framed. The black cat looks exactly like "the young Mephisto", especially with the long tapered tail. I framed the 1992 with the black cat a few years ago. You can go into any shop and ask for posters. They only cost $5.00 to $10.00. I'm not sure if they use a black cat now.

No rain here! It was cooler so I had to work outside today.

Keep us posted!

Cheers!
