We should also remember that memory demand always goes up. As more space is available in a standard configuration, applications get bigger and bigger. I remember when our office installed a 40mb hard drive in the "pool PC" - "Man, 40 megs, how are we ever gonna fill that thing up?!" Yeah, right, many game applications exceed that size nowadays. Memory size will never be fixed, because we will always outgrow it. This could mean that there will always be a need for that flexible, scalable, removable memory to handle transport or data storage with the added benefit of physical security.

BTW, I'm surprised that there are no comments re: SanDisk rebates!
