Japan's foreign exchange reserves swelled to a record $344.89 billion at the end of July, eclipsing the previous record of $344.85 billion set in June, the Finance Ministry said Monday.
The reserves -- securities and deposits denominated in foreign currencies, International Monetary Fund (IMF) reserve positions, IMF special drawing rights (SDRs) and gold -- have thus risen for eight months in a row.
