Thanks for the article. I think we'll read many of these kind of articles with conflicting views from various groups/individuals. What the writer failed to mention is that FC is massively being deployed at the core area as you said. FC offers flexibility and performance that SCSI can't. Big servers/storage companies have endorsed FC for that purpose. FC has not made any inroad into the 'LAN' area which is dominated by Ethernet/GE. So, to say GE/IP is going to de-throne FC to transport storage over WAN is ludicrous. FC was never there. It seems everyone is hedging their bets in getting involve in storage over IP. Other than CMNT and may be one or two others, no one has really sent data over WAN. It simply is too costly and customers do have other alternatives. Watch what these same companies do , not what they say in the next year or two. May be a clearer picture will emerge.
