SAO PAULO, Aug 4 (Reuters) - Brazil's state oil giant Petrobras said on
Friday it had closed a deal with the Bolivian government to build a 110
megawatts gas-fired electric plant in partnership with Duke Energy Inc. in
Bolivia's Puerto Suarez.

Another Brazilian company, wide-profile Monteiro Suarez group, will be
building this plant.

Petrobras also said in a statement that jointly with Duke it would build a
same-type plant in Brazil's central-western state of Mato Grosso.

The investment in the two plants, that should become operative at the end of
next year, is expected to reach $100 million. Each plant should consume about
600,000 cubic meters of natural gas. Brazil mainly imports natural gas from
Bolivia.
