Shares of Synopsis Inc., which makes software for semiconductor companies, are down sharply in active after-hours trading following the company’s fiscal fourth-quarter earnings warning that was disclosed after the bell.
Shares of the Mountain View-based concern have plunged 26% to a 52-week low of $24.13 in Nasdaq after-hours trading, making it the largest percentage casualty in trading following today’s close. Synopsis had closed up $1.63 a share at $32.56 during regular trading hours on volume of just under 1 million shares.

The company warned today that it will lose 45 cents a share vs. Street estimates of a 77-cent-a-share profit, according to First Call/Thomson Financial. Sales will also miss the mark considerably: $124 million vs. estimates of $263 million, according to IBES International.
