AuraServ Communications Secures $5 Million Investment From Comdisco, Inc.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Aug. 7

/PRNewswire/ -- AuraServ Communications, the next-generation provider of comprehensive, hosted phone services for small and medium-sized businesses, today announced that Comdisco, Inc. has made a $5 million investment in AuraServ, becoming the second high-profile venture capital firm to invest in the company. AuraServ was founded in 1999 by Ken Denman, AuraServ president and CEO. Crosspoint Venture Partners provided the company's first round of financing. AuraServ provides an innovative business service that combines a telephone system with Windows-based desktop software, local and long distance voice services, voicemail and other call handling features all for a monthly per user fee.

"Comdisco made this investment because AuraServ's business model is extremely compelling," said Ken Denman, president and CEO, AuraServ Communications. "We are providing businesses with the most basic tool they need -- voice services. Better yet, AuraServ has employed the latest in Internet technology, combined it with sophisticated computer/telephony software all supported by a full-fledged service bureau in order to provide businesses with a simple, affordable voice communications solution." AuraServ will use Comdisco's investment to strengthen various customer service functions including the expansion of its server farm, customer care and network operations center located at its headquarters in Englewood, Colo. AuraServ already has customers in the Denver and Seattle areas, and will be offering service in a number of additional markets this year.

"We are 100 percent focused on attracting and supporting customers at this stage in our business, so Comdisco's investment will be channeled to support those efforts," said Denman. "This early-stage investment from Comdisco positions us for growth, and supports our plans to simplify and improve voice services for businesses nationwide."
