Andreas,

<I did:

Leading computer manufacturers worldwide have announced plans to offer AMD Duron processor-based systems, including Compaq, Fujitsu-Siemens, Hewlett-Packard Company, IBM, NEC, Systemax and others. >

Read the first question from the Duron FAQ here:
amd.com

Some AMD reps also talked about having systems available from Compaq by the END OF JUNE.

<They did! Just listen to the CC again. And how do yo define "good" infrastructure support? From the point of an AMD investor it may have been very bad. But from the point of someone working on a "virtual gorilla" strategy it may have been good. I think it's a matter of perspective and how politely you say it... Currently AMD needs VIA and can't speak publicly about their "lousy performance".>

To quote from Q2 earnings release - "We are especially pleased at the strong support we have received from our infrastructure partners during the transition to the newest version of the AMD Athlon processor family."

Especially pleased? And you want to define "good"? Can we define "lousy" too? Come on!

Andreas, I think the problem is that there are a whole bunch of folks within and outside of AMD who want to blame VIA and think the lousy performance is because of VIA.

Chuck
