(AWI) on-line lottery systems subsidiary has been granted a five-year contract extension by the Maryland Board of Public Works to provide on-line and instant ticket gaming systems and services to the Maryland Lottery through June 2006.
The five-year extension was the maximum allowed under the original contract that AWI signed with the State of Maryland in 1995. AWI provides the Maryland Lottery its MasterLink(TM) Advanced Gaming System software and 4,100 on-line retail terminals, of which 1,800 are Keno retailers.

We have worked hard in Maryland at innovation and our partnership with AWI has enabled us to deliver new products to the marketplace, such as Keno Bonus. The Maryland Lottery has had a record year and we intend to parlay our success.''
