Newt had been under attack before, and fought and won. He could have fought again, and chose not to for the good of the party. Clinton, on the other hand, has been mainly defiant, throwing those who disapproved a few bones, but referring in most cases to himself as a victim, and staging that horrible lovefest at the White House right after the impeachment vote, when acceptance of responsibility would have, at a minimum, dictated a muted and humble response. He made his party defend him to the bitter end, and is now costing it the election.........
