tx for your insight. some companies may sell puts to prop up their stock; some others may do so (even ITM) to acquire/buyback stock "quietly". I didn't know if there was any need at CSCO for stock or not.

anyway, I was just curious. I found it interesting that the "report/rumor" came out around the same time of Brinker's QQQ stop loss and also about 22K QQQ Aug87 puts traded. and subsequent yoyo action last Thurs.
it takes a lot of effort to take an index down to take out some stops. (not saying it was intentional, but just that if it was, it is not done w/o a lot of effort on someone's part)
